Holidays

I love Halloween. I like it the most because Halloween is right around the time of my birthday. I always have so much fun the times of leading up to Halloween. Birthday and holiday festivities are the best. I love the cold weather, changing leaves, pumpkin scented candles, and Halloween movies. Just something about Halloween makes me so happy. I love pumpkin carving, and apple picking and all the cozy food at home. I also really like Christmas. I love the trees and all the lights and the snow just are great. I love when its a snowy night watching Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas snuggled up on the couch with a blanket, the fireplace, and my dog. I just love the feeling of waking up Christmas morning and sitting around the Christmas tree with my family and just laughing and all being happy.

Family Blog

I would think I have a strange family. I have a sister, two half brothers, and two step siblings. Yet, I am definitely way closer to my actual sister. We always used to argue and hate each other but now that we are off away at college we have learned to appreciate each others company a lot more. My half brothers growing up didn't like my sister or myself, and my step siblings are alright. We all have just grown up so differently. I do think my sister is my best friend and I am glad that I have her in my life, even though she drives me nuts.

'It would be just another war in another place'  I think the article was well written. I think the comment from Tyler A. when he said "we should go over there and blow them the hell out of there" was a little inappropriate. A comment like that should be kept out because the lives of innocent civilians are going to be the ones impacted more than Kim Jon Un's will be. I agree with Joshua B.'s comment when he spoke about how we have been in a similar situation before such as the cold war, and we should wait it out. Joshua B also stated that he believes it is a situation we should wait out. Another student weighed in named Purvit P. saying that this should be handled through proper diplomacy, which I do as well agree with. Also Joshua B. had looked at the humanitarian crisis that could arise from this situation, and felt for the United States servicemen who may potentially be deployed over there. He also mentioned the younger generation to whom it would just be a

Fairytale Lessons

A fairytale that I would say affects me on my day to day life would be the Incredibles. I know its not much of a fairytale but I think the movie does have a good message. It reminds you that family is most important and that it is okay to be your best self and to use your strengths completely to your advantage, like when Dash in the movie wants to join track because he knows he is fast. Or how when the Dad lies to the mom about where he is and he ends up being held captive and she goes an does everything she can to get him back despite him lying to her is a reminder of how we do things even if we don't want to for the people we love. The movie just overall has such a positive and important message. If I'm feeling down, I just try my best to be Incredible .

Welcome To My Blog

This blog was made for the purpose of my Public Speaking class at my university. I am Taylor, a sophomore student in university, majoring in Accounting. Some things I enjoy is watching my favorite shows such as Shameless, and The Office. As well, spending time at home with my dog is another one of my favorite activities. I do enjoy to write sometimes so despite the blog being for class, maybe it can end up being a gateway for me to write freely. Stay posted.
